Added voices for text-to-speech! Ondoku has powered up! Update details for February and March 2021
March 13, 2021
We are the Ondoku development team, working hard on development again today.
In February and March, we performed major updates to Ondoku.
The text-to-speech part of the main function has changed significantly, so many people must have noticed the update.
However, we have also fixed various other minor details.
How many updates did you notice?
We will introduce the details of the updates carried out in February and March.
Main Updates for February and March
- Added new voices
- Resolved audio file error issues with Keita, Nanami, Takumi, and Mizuki
- Added new languages (Thai, Hong Kong, etc.)
- Correction of wording in invoices, etc.
Added New Voices

This was the biggest update through February and March.
61 voices were added at the end of February, and more than 200 voices were added in early March.
The names of the voices have also become more friendly person names.
In Japanese,
- Takumi
- Mizuki
- Keita
- Nanami
a total of four types of voices, two male and two female, have been added.
Initially, we named the voices "Narrator," but we came to the conclusion that person names are easier to understand.
So, from now on, they are named with person names rather than generic titles.
The new voices are already being used by many people.
Seeing them being used so much makes us happy that this update was a good one.
The development team carries out updates daily to make Ondoku better. Please use Ondoku a lot and support us.
Resolution of Audio File Error Issues with Keita, Nanami, Takumi, and Mizuki
The addition of new voices also caused a new problem.
An error occurred where audio could not be played when inserted into external software such as PowerPoint or Premiere Pro.
This was discovered through reports from customers. We appreciate your cooperation.
By changing the audio file output method and performing several tests, this error has been resolved.
Currently, errors no longer occur when inserting any voice into external software.
Addition of New Languages (Thai, Hong Kong, etc.)
New languages have been added, and it is now possible to read text in even more languages.
We received requests during the update process, making it an update where we strongly felt the demand.
The new languages are
- Thai
- Hong Kong
- Hebrew
- Tamil
- Welsh, etc.
Is there a voice you've been wanting to use? Please give it a try.
Correction of Wording in Invoices
Invoices can now be issued when using annual plans.
Previously, we handled this manually via email, but that inevitably caused a waiting time for a response.
It has become even more convenient as users can now easily issue and check invoices themselves.
Due to some missing wording in these new invoices, a problem occurred that led to errors during payment confirmation.
The wording has now been changed, and errors no longer occur.
Other Updates
In addition, we are making minor corrections such as adding internal processing and fixing SSML.
The development team will continue to advance development so that you can use Ondoku even more comfortably.
We are happy to be the most user-friendly text-to-speech software for you.
Please continue to use it a lot. Thank you for your support.
