Welcome to Ondoku website.
Ondoku receives inquiries and requests from various customers every day.
In such an inquiry this time
- I made a little correction after reading the text, but do not to count the number of characters when reading this correction again.
I got a question and a request.
"It's a waste to count slightly modified characters."
Some of you may be wondering, so I'll blog the answer to this request.
Please do not count the number of characters if corrected
Text-to-speech software uses many scenes called "speech synthesis engine".
What is a speech synthesis engine?
In general, it calls the pre-recorded voice data from the input characters and connects them to create a voice.
Ondoku has a separate contract for this "speech engine".
Specifically, Ondoku pays a fee to the speech synthesis engine for each character you read aloud.
This is something you cannot control with Ondoku, and you will incur charges.
In case of correction,
Ondoku has its own system, and if it is "what you have read aloud before (setting/text)", you can call a voice from your past reading history.
So, if it is "thing that has been read aloud (setting/text)", the number of characters is not counted.
but,
- The text read aloud even with one letter,
- Even if the setting values such as speed and height change by 1,
- Change the voice of reading
Then, it judges it as "text that has never been read" and reads it.
Of course, since it is "text I have never read aloud until now", you will be charged for using the speech synthesis engine.
Unfortunately, speech synthesis engines are not as flexible as humans.
Here, we recommend that a wise person make good use of a machine that is not flexible.
Ondoku recommends reading a small number of characters as much as possible when you need to read it carefully, such as making a narration for YouTube.
