What is commercial use?

It refers to use for the purpose of profit-making.

However, please note that Ondoku has established prohibited acts.

Regardless of whether you are an individual or a corporation, use for the purpose of directly or indirectly obtaining financial or other benefits constitutes commercial use.

This article explains what you can and cannot do with Ondoku.

The following usage examples are just examples and are not exhaustive. Furthermore, we reserve the right to change these terms at any time without notice to users if deemed necessary.

For free use, please be sure to provide credit attribution. Credit attribution is mandatory in a place where it is visible to users.

Creating and providing audio on behalf of a third party is NOT allowed.

Regardless of whether you are an individual or a corporation, we do not permit the act of creating and providing audio on behalf of a third party using your own account.
*This is exempted if you use a Business Plan.

By using the Business Plan, you will be able to create and provide audio on behalf of third parties.
In addition, embedding into products and use in broadcast media will also be possible.

This is a plan for sole proprietors and corporations.

The overview of the Business Plan is as follows:

  • 1-year valid license
  • Audio created during the period can continue to be used without credit attribution even after the license period ends
  • Can be used for outsourced/contracted work
  • Can be used in broadcast media such as TV and radio
  • Use of audio in products or goods for sale, lease, or commercial purposes

  • 2.4 million characters per year → 120,000 yen
  • 5.4 million characters per year → 240,000 yen

If you wish for an annual contract via bank transfer, please contact us following steps 1, 2, and 3.

  1. Register as a free member on Ondoku.
  2. You can issue an invoice from Ondoku's Settings via "Payment → Annual Bank Payment."
  3. Please check the contents of the invoice and transfer the billed amount to the designated account.
    * Invoices can only be issued when the display is set to Japanese.

Prohibited Acts.

Users must not perform the following acts when using this service:

  1. The act of using Ondoku for products or services where credit attribution is not possible with a free account.
  2. The act of continuing to use audio without credit attribution by migrating to a free account after using Ondoku with a paid account.
  3. The act of continuing to use audio by migrating to a free account after using Ondoku for products or services where credit attribution is not possible with a paid account.
  4. Use of disposable email addresses.
  5. The act of one person creating multiple free accounts.
  6. The act of lending one's own account to a third party, or acts equivalent to this.
  7. Infringement of third-party copyrights.
  8. Acts that cause damage to our company or a third party.
  9. The act of using audio files with anything other than an appropriate plan.
  10. Acts such as embedding into products, use in broadcast media, use for outsourced work, or use for items to be sold without a Business Plan.
  11. Acts that infringe upon the property, honor, privacy, etc., of our company or a third party.
  12. Acts that give the false impression that the voice created with Ondoku is one's own work.
    Example: Making statements or behavior that give the false impression that audio created with Ondoku was produced by oneself from scratch.
  13. Selling or distributing productions, products, etc., where the Ondoku audio is the main component.
    *This refers to cases where a large part of the value of the production or product is carried by the audio.
    It refers to services, applications, or content that exist because of Ondoku's audio.
    Example: Audio materials such as dialogue collections, greeting collections, etc.
  14. The act of impersonating a third party.
  15. Acts that may interfere with the operation of this website.
  16. The act of unauthorized access to servers or other computers of our company.
  17. The act of tampering with information that can be used in this service or providing false information.
  18. Use in content that is contrary to public order and morals, such as adult content, violence, discrimination, or slander.

  21. Other acts that our company deems inappropriate.

In the event that a user performs any of the prohibited acts listed in the preceding paragraph, the user shall bear all responsibility, including liability for damages toward other users or third parties who suffered damage due to said prohibited act, and shall indemnify our company from such responsibility regardless of whether the user acted intentionally or negligently. Our company shall not bear any responsibility (not limited to contractual liability or tort liability, but including liability based on any other legal theory) for any damage, loss, or expense (including but not limited to direct damage, indirect damage, incidental damage, special damage, punitive damage, consequential damage, lost profits, attorney fees, etc.) resulting from such prohibited acts, regardless of whether they were foreseeable or not.

In the event that our company suffers damage, loss, or expense (including but not limited to direct damage, indirect damage, incidental damage, special damage, punitive damage, consequential damage, lost profits, attorney fees, etc.) due to a user performing any of the prohibited acts listed in Paragraph 1 of this Article (including cases where a third party pursues liability for damages against our company), the user must compensate and indemnify for these.

In the event that an act that our company judges to fall under the prohibited acts in Paragraph 1 of this Article is performed, or if our company otherwise deems it necessary, our company may, regardless of whether the user acted intentionally or negligently, take measures to prevent the occurrence or expansion of damage due to the prohibited act and any other measures our company deems appropriate (including the act of responding to requests for disclosure of information regarding the user from a person who claims their rights were infringed by the user) without prior notice. Even if any damage, loss, or expense (including but not limited to direct damage, indirect damage, incidental damage, special damage, punitive damage, consequential damage, lost profits, attorney fees, etc.) occurs to the user or a third party by taking such measures, our company shall not bear any responsibility (not limited to contractual liability or tort liability, but including liability based on any other legal theory), regardless of whether it was foreseeable or not.
