Updated 3 Japanese Voices! Try Ondoku Text-to-Speech Software for Free

This is Ondoku, continuing to evolve every day.

We are updating some of our Japanese voices.

Here is information regarding the upcoming changes.

Japanese Voice Update

The speakers being updated are:

  • Voice Assistant
  • Announcer A
  • Announcer B

All three types have been updated to versions where the existing voices' reading styles have become slightly smoother.

Just by changing the reading style, the atmosphere changes significantly.

Discontinuation of Old Voices

Provision of the old voices will be

discontinued on March 31, 2024.

After April 1, 2024, it will no longer be possible to create new audio using the old voices.

Please be aware of this.

Handling of Old Voices in the Conversation Feature

Due to the discontinuation of old voices on March 31, 2024,

if you were using an old voice in the "Speaker Settings" of the conversation feature, it will be automatically replaced with the new voice from April 1, 2024, onwards.

After April 1, 2024, it will no longer be possible to create new audio using the old voices.

Listen to the Updated Voices

We will introduce samples (trial listening) of the actual audio. Please give them a listen.

Here is the text that was read:

I am Ondoku. I can speak not only in Japanese, but also in languages from all over the world.

Please listen to each voice.

The speed setting is 1 for all of them.

Japanese Voice Update History

  • Initial 4 types
  • 1st update: 8 types
  • 2nd update: 9 types
  • 3rd update: 10 types
  • 4th update: 15 types

This is the 5th update for Japanese voices. The selection has become even more extensive than before!

Ondoku, of course, has a full range of male and female voices.

English-based voices are even more comprehensive, with over 92 types.

"Just trying out a voice to see what it sounds like consumes the 1,000 free characters available without registration..."

You're right. It feels like a waste. That’s why we hope you’ll check out this blog and YouTube where you can listen to samples.

We hope Ondoku continues to be the best text-to-speech software for you!
